Torri's Musical

Hi guys.


As I have mentioned before I (torri) was just in a musical. It was called suesical. We preformed it last weekend and it was tons of fun. Here is a picture of me as a bird girl with my good friend Summer as Gertrude (one of the leads). I was also assistant stage manager for this.

Summertime 2008

Football Season 2008

Football began in at the end of August with 2 hour practices every day, 5 days in a row for a couple of weeks. Then games were on Wed.pm and Sat.am and practices were only on Mon, Teus, Thurs,& Fri. It was intense for our family's first experience with football. The boys loved it and they were both pretty much the tallest and biggest boys for their grades in the whole tri-county league. Some of the games were as far as 2 1/2 hours away, but at least half were home games. We were able to see quite a bit of central Utah during this season and with gas prices at an alltime high it became a small drain on the wallet. It was a relief to be done by early October. After a little break the boys did miss playing the game with all their friends.

Summer News

Summer went by fairly uneventful, but very quickly. Torri & Zac spent some time in June in Tyler, TX at the Teenmania campus. Torri as a volunteer and Zac at a short term mission trip to Tyler. They were helpful to the ministry there and both of them grew spiritually in different ways while they were there.

We went North and saw a few movies now and then and took a few day trips to pass the time, which ended all too soon. We took a an afternoon picnic to Maple Canyon but it was very buggy and one of us had flipflops on which do not work for walking through the rocks. Then while Torri was still in TX, the boys, Fred & I went camping overnight at Yuba Lake State Park, which is a beautiful lake, but our campsite was the only one with mimimal shade and it was very hot, but we still had fun. At the end of June and July we took rides over the mountain behind our house to spot any snow left, there were a few tiny spots. We are still finding spots nearby that are beautiful.

Baseball began the summer and football practices ended it. A trip to a water park in July was fun in between. It was a nighttime visit with my cousins church and all had fun. There were games and rides, river pool, and a wave pool. They served a yummy supper and ended the evening with a movie on a fifty foot infatable movie screen, which was really cool to watch go up by the wave pool.

Alltogether not an exciting summer, but we enjoyed being together with each other.

Torri's Update

Hey Everyone!
This is Torri. I figured I'd give you an update on my life. I am now 16, a junior in high school, and a freshman in college. I have my license now. I am a bird girl (supportin charactor) and the prop master in the upcoming school musical, Suesical. Also in my acting I preformed a scene with from friends at the Utah Shakespearan Festival, We got good scores but not good enough to win anything. I am also the secretary of the Esteem Team (a club that is the anti-tobacco force in the school). My life has been super buzy lately. Well, email me soon @ qweraz1123@yahoo.com or myspace me. Right now I just have Chemistry 1010, History 2700, Communications 1200, and Sociology 1010.

While fishing at a nearby water area, Fred and Noah were able to capture this dirt devil on video. They were fishing with Uncle Jay and Uncle Alan whose voices you may hear in the background.

Well here are the pictures of the new van. It is a Chrysler Grand Voyager 2000, it looks tan yet it looks light sage green in the sunlight(There is still debate on the color, especially by Torri). It works, needs a repair or two and some interior cleaning but we like it and it does not have a big dent in the hood(which is a plus as far as cars go).

Deer Damaged Van

To those of you who haven't heard we had to say good-bye to our old white van that brought us so far accross country. In April, on their way home from Thursday night bible study, Fred and the boys came accross a whole bunch of deer accross the road, they swerved and then another jumped onto the headlight and then rolled and bounced accross the hood of the van. Anyway the insurance company totalled it due to some interior damage also and at the end of April we purchased another van, 2000 chrysler grand voyager. God is good and led us to it, and we own it outright.

Noah is always Noah. Loves to have fun and is enjoying new yo-yo tricks he learned at a school assembly. He is doing very well with his grades at school. His favorite subjects are math and science. He is looking forward to summer, baseball and football next fall. He and Zac are among the tallest in the 5th and 6th grade. Noah is a leader of his team on the AAA Safety patrol which help out with drop off and pick ups at school and they help teach bus safety to younger children.

Changes for Torri are being inducted into the National Honor Society and she begins driver's ed tomorrow at 6:30am at school. She is looking into being accepted into a three week summer internship program with Teenmania at their headquarters in Texas working for them doing whatever needs to be done. She has picked her classes for her junior year of highschool which includes many college classes which count as credits for highschool and towards her associates degree. When she returns from Texas she plans on getting a job to raise up some money for a car, insurance, gas, etc. Wow, lots of changes since last year.

Other changes for Zac is that he is 6 inches taller (now 5'8") and his shoe size is a 14 (I think they are big enough now). He is doing OK in school, some classes are better than others. He enjoys hanging out with a couple of good friends from school. Baseball starts soon near the end of school on May 23rd, one of Zac's personal holidays. He is signing up for Football in the Fall as he enters 7th grade which is at the Middle School. The bus ride is long and is shared with the highschool because everyone is spread out in rural areas, it is 14 miles from the house. Zac has also been recently accepted to the junior mission trip with Teenmania to Tyler, Texas which will include an area VBS, homeless shelter, food bank distribution and overall missions trip training through Global Expeditions.

Torri's Update

This is Torri. Just wanted to update you on what is happening in my life. I was accepted into national honor society. I am also running for V.P. of the Esteem Team (a volunteer group for school) I am also plannning on going on a missions trip to Texas in June. I would appreciate any prayer or donations. April, Yeah, Spring is on its Way!

Yeah, it's April! The snow is almost all gone from the yard, but the mountains are full of snow. The sun seems to be shining longer due to daylight savings, but at least the daylight hours seem to last later. Easter was early and cold this year, we had a quiet dinner with just us and my uncle and a cousin from MA. Torri woke up that morning with a very sore throat and a temp of 101.3 which by the next day turned into strept throat. Easter for her was spent in bed and not eating any chocolate or ham & potatoes. The rest of us went to church, Fred and I taught her preschool sunday school class which she teaches.
We all have been out in the yard raking, sweeping the driveway, and clearing out an area for a chicken coop the last couple of Saturdays. My mom and dad have been out burning brush in the backyard, next will be pruning the orchard trees. The yard is looking nice.
Fred and the boys have been brushing up on their baseball skills and even throwing the football around.
I measured Zac & Noah this morning and was surprised at how fast they are growing. Zac measured about 5' 8 1\2 " and Noah was 5' 4". Wow, it won't be long till I am the shortest one in the family. Next week is spring break for the kids, though it will just be Wed.-Fri. The last day of school is May 23 so they will be out before Memorial Day.
